Banner Advertising

HomeResearcher.com offers advertisers two forms of banner advertising.

The first form is via a banner like this:

• Banners must be 468x60 pixels in size, no larger than 12K and have a .gif or .jpg format.
• Banners are located along the top right-hand corner of all category pages and your listing is placed in rotation.

The second form of advertising is via a text listing like this:

• Text banners are 700x40 pixels in size.
• This is essentially the same as a typical listing in the directory except for the fact that the listing is enhanced by the background color and prominent location on the page. These banners show up just above the listings in that category. With the exception of the search page, there are no more than two listings in this area. Your listing is placed in rotation.

With both of these forms of banner advertising, you will be able to login to your own control center and get real time statistics on your advertising campaign including how many times your banner has been shown, how many times it was clicked on and what your click through ratio is.

When you sign up for any one of the two campaigns, you can choose from one of the following options:

• "Run of the Site" - With a run of the site campaign, your banner will be displayed across our entire site, including the main page. (Note: this option is only available for the 468x60 .gif banners). The benefit of this type of advertising campaign is that it reaches a wide audience.
• "Category Specific" - With this ad campaign you can specify exactly which categories and subcategories you would like your banner to appear. This is a more specific form of advertising and is great for companies who want a more captive audience.
• "Keyword Specific" - With this ad campaign you can choose specific keywords to use and get your banner displayed on. Your banner will appear when a user types in the specific keyword or phrase. This is the most specific form of advertising you'll find. With this option, your campaign is seen only by those clients looking for specific products or services.
• "Custom" - If you have an advertising campaign that doesn't fit into one of these categories, contact us and we'll discuss tailoring a campaign that's right for you.

Advertising rates for "Cost Per Impression" are as follows:

CPM - All banner campaigns are sold on a Cost Per Thousand(cpm)impressions basis.
* Costs are based on minimum advertising campaign of 2500 impressions.

Campaigns are sold in blocks of 2500 impression with discounts offered for larger blocks.

Rankings

HomeResearcher.com lists websites in the directory based on a ranking system from 1 to 7, ("7" being the best). When originally added to the directory, all listings are given a ranking of "1". All listings are viewed in ranking order, "7's" at the top and so on down. Obviously, the higher you rank, the greater the exposure of your listing.

How do I increase the ranking of my site?

To increase the ranking of your listing, simply place a button or search box on your website which links back to us. (click here to see the choices). Small buttons will increase your ranking by "1", larger buttons will increase your ranking by "2" and the search boxes increase your ranking by "3".

To get started, simply cut and paste the code located on the link to us page and place it in your website. Once you have the link on your site, contact us and we'll increase the ranking of your site immediately.

"10 Best"

This method of increasing the exposure of your website in the HomeResearcher directory is achieved by placing a small "Vote" button on your website. The "Vote" button encourages visitors to your website to vote your site as one of the "10 Best". The more votes you get, the greater the exposure of your website in our "10 Best" category.
